Pythagoras Theorem

Pythagoras Theorem In Yajurveda’s Taittariya Upanishad

Pythagoras theorem is mentioned in Yajurveda. The theorem was known to the ancient Indian mathematician Baudhayana, who lived around 800 BC. He stated that “the rope which is stretched across the diagonal of a square produces an area double the size of the original square.” This was later elaborated by Aryabhata in his book Aryabhatiya, written in 499 CE. He noted that the area of a triangle on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of both the triangle and its reflection over any one side of the triangle. Explore more with us at 4VEDs.com.
