Sanatan Dharma Describe For Yugas Or Dharmik Age

Sanatan Dharma Describes For Yugas Or Dharmik Ages. A Yuga is an interval between two Kalpas. In Hinduism and Indian mythology, the concept of Yuga is mentioned in many Puranas. The Surya Siddhanta, an ancient treatise on astronomy and timekeeping, describes the Yugas as periods during which the world goes through a series of great changes.

The Supreme Lord Vishnu is said to have created this universe in a primordial age called Satya Yuga. It is also said that he will destroy it at the end of Kali Yuga when he will re-create it once again. There are four yugas: Satya (or Krita), Treta, Dwapar, and Kali. In each of these yugas, there are four eras: Sandhya (or Sandhyamsha), Udaya (or Pratyantarayuga), Vyatipata (or Antyekakarana), and Sisupalabdhi (or Vaivartamsha). This makes up 12 eras in total.
