Kartik Swami Temple-Do You Know The Story Behind It

Kartik Swami temple is situated in the beautiful Gadhwaal valley of Uttarakhand. It is devoted to Lord Kartik the elder son of Lord Shiva who is known as the God of victory in a war.

The story behind is interesting when Lord Shiva proposed to both Hua’s sons that whomsoever between them will arrive first after completing seven rounds of the universe will be worshipped first. Lord Ganesha on his Vahan moved around his parents and said that they are his universe. Lord Ganesha, at last, got the honour of being the winner which resulted in raged anger of Kartikeya and he sacrificed his bone to his father and flesh to his mother.
